Commerce Bank Partners With Affinity Solutions And Affinion Loyalty Group To Enhance Cardholder Rewards Platform

Commerce Bank ( www.commercebank.com), a subsidiary of Commerce Bancshares, Inc. (NASDAQ: CBSH), today announced new relationships with Affinity Solutions ( www.affinitysolutions.com) and Affinion Loyalty Group (ALG; www.affinionloyalty.com) to enhance the Commerce Bank Rewards platform. The enhanced Commerce Bank Rewards program makes it easy for cardholders to earn bonus points every day at their favorite in-store or online retailers.

With Commerce Bank Rewards, cardholders currently earn points on purchases and interest charges. Affinity Solutions will utilize its network of more than 25,000 retailers to present targeted bonus point offers to Commerce Bank Rewards cardholders when they log in to the site, or access the company’s Mobile Rewards Finder application. Comprised of retailer offers, discounted entertainment tickets, point redemption items, and shopping tips, the enhanced website and Mobile Rewards Finder deliver a fresh new look and increased functionality to program participants.

“We regularly ask for feedback from our rewards cardholders, and they told us they would like more bonus point opportunities. So, we designed a bonus point enhancement to complement our existing rewards program,” said Carl Bradbury, director of consumer card products at Commerce Bank. “This allows us to work with both Affinity Solutions and ALG to deliver the best features on both the earn side and the redemption side of the customer experience.”

Participating retailer point offers will appear on www.commercebank.com/rewards, along with a highlighted feature offer. Site visitors who click on the featured offer will be taken to a page that advertises that retailer, its customer message, and the promotion. Users will also be able to click a link to find out more about the offer.

“As the leader in developing rewards programs for financial institutions, Affinity Solutions is well positioned to leverage its longstanding relationships with leading retailers nationwide to deliver added value to the Commerce Bank Rewards program, and provide valuable offers to the bank’s many customers,” said Jonathan Silver, president and chief executive officer of Affinity Solutions. “Commerce Bank Rewards is an outstanding example of today’s current generation of sophisticated loyalty marketing programs, which many retail and financial services brands are now utilizing to improve customer experience and retention levels.”

While Commerce Bank will rely on Affinity Solutions to provide bonus point earning opportunities in the program, Commerce will continue its relationship with ALG. ALG has been instrumental in developing and growing the Commerce Bank Rewards program and will continue to manage all redemption, including travel, cash back, gift cards, merchandise, and more.

“Our tagline at ALG is ‘Converting Customers Into Fans.’ Simply stated, that’s what we have worked to do for the last 30 years — create fans of our clients’ brands,” said Scott Lazear, president of ALG. “Since 1997, we’ve partnered with Commerce Bank to provide a leading rewards program. The most critical time in the consumer experience is when a customer redeems her points. And, the creation of rewards experiences is ALG’s forte; the scale and method by which we handle loyalty programs and points redemptions is industry leading. We’re excited to continue our strategic partnership with Commerce Bank by providing these rewards, which drive engagement and true customer loyalty.”

Retailers interested in participating in Commerce Bank Rewards should contact Tom Tracy, vice president of retail strategy and account management at Affinity Solutions, by phone at (646) 922-0538, or by email at ttracy@affinitysolutions.com.
