Walgreen to Buy 45% of Alliance Boots for $6.7B

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Walgreen ( WAG) said Tuesday it would buy a 45% stake in Alliance Boots for $6.7 billion.

Walgreen also has an option to buy the rest of Alliance Boots, which owns 3,300 health and beauty retail stores in 11 countries and runs a pharmaceutical wholesale business supplies unit.
