Rouse Properties Announces Renovation Of Pierre Bossier Mall

Rouse Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RSE), a national owner and operator of regional enclosed malls, today announced that it has commenced a multi-million dollar renovation of the Pierre Bossier Mall, located in Bossier City, Louisiana (Shreveport-Bossier MSA). The renovation will entail a major interior facelift, enhanced entrances and signage, the addition of numerous shopper amenities along with upgrades that will transform the shopping experience for the mall’s customers and retailers.

The renovation will include a new porcelain tile floor throughout the common areas and food court of the mall, and the painting of all walls, columns and ceilings, to achieve a lighter and fresher environment. Rouse will be adding numerous soft seating areas with new furniture and carpeting in the key gathering places within the mall to appeal to the mall’s customers. All common areas of the mall will also be equipped with Wi-Fi service for seamless internet access. Rouse is also planning a refreshed look on the exterior of the mall, with upgraded mall entrances, and an upgrading of the center’s pylon and exterior directional signage.

“We are committed to enhancing the shopping experience across Rouse’s 31-mall portfolio, and our renovation of Pierre Bossier Mall will result in a center that’s lighter, brighter and more welcoming to the mall’s customers and families,” said Benjamin Schall, Chief Operating Officer of Rouse Properties. “We see the renovation of Pierre Bossier Mall as an opportunity to further establish the mall as one of the premier shopping destinations in the greater Shreveport-Bossier City marketplace.”

Rouse expects to complete the renovation in time for the 2012 Holiday season. Much of the work will take place after mall hours to ensure an optimum experience for customers and retailers during the renovation.

Pierre Bossier Mall is the largest enclosed mall in the region, with immediate access to Interstate 20 and U.S. Highway 80. The center totals over 600,000 square feet and is anchored by Dillard’s, J.C. Penney and Sears, and is home to over 70 specialty retailers including American Eagle Outfitters, Bath & Body Works, Victoria's Secret and Buckle. Rouse also owns Mall St Vincent in nearby Shreveport and is positioning both malls to better serve their communities, including the nearby Barksdale Air Force base, one of the largest military bases in the nation.
