Kayne Anderson MLP Investment Company (the “Company”) (NYSE: KYN) announced today its quarterly distribution of $0.5275 per share for the quarter ended May 31, 2012. This distribution represents an increase of 1.9% from the prior quarter’s distribution of $0.5175 per share and an increase of 6.0% from the distribution for the quarter ended May 31, 2011. This represents the seventh consecutive quarterly increase by the Company. The distribution will be payable on July 13, 2012 to common stockholders of record on July 5, 2012, with an ex-dividend date of July 2, 2012. It is anticipated that a significant portion of this distribution will be treated as a return of capital for tax purposes. The final determination of such amount will be made in early 2013 when the Company can determine its earnings and profits. The final tax status of the distribution may differ substantially from this preliminary information.
