Forever 21 Expands Presence At Rouse Properties' Southland Center

Rouse Properties, Inc. (NYSE: RSE), a national owner and operator of regional enclosed malls, today announced that Forever 21 has signed a lease to expand its presence at Southland Center, a leading shopping center serving Detroit's Southern Wayne County submarket. Forever 21, a specialty retailer of women's and men's clothing and accessories, will move from its existing 7,000 square foot space to a 22,500 square foot space formally occupied by Borders.

“Forever 21's decision to expand its presence at Southland Center reflects the mall’s strong retail presence in the market,” said Andrew Silberfein, president and chief executive officer of Rouse Properties. “Establishing a leading brand like Forever 21 as an anchor tenant is a prime example of the exciting developments taking place at Southland. We are committed to continuously improving the shopping experience for customers by delivering the best brands, and Forever 21 certainly fits this category.”

There has been a great deal of interest in the relocation of this Forever 21 store within the Southland Center. Forever 21 Executive Vice President Larry Meyer shares in this excitement and says, “We are very pleased to provide the customers of Southland Center with an even larger selection of great fashion at a great price. We have diligently worked to expand the overall store layout and concepts to ensure a better shopping environment for all of our customers.”

Located at 23000 Eureka Road in Taylor, Michigan, Southland Center is the only regional mall located in the Detroit suburbs south of I-94. The approximately 900,000 square foot, single-level, enclosed shopping center is home to a number of leading retailers including Macy’s, jcpenney, Best Buy, Victoria’s Secret, and American Eagle Outfitters. The addition of Forever 21 as an anchor tenant will enhance Southland Center’s impressive retail line-up providing customers with an unparalleled shopping experience.
