U.K. Lawmakers: Rupert Mudoch Not 'Fit' to Run Major Company

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- News Corp.'s ( NWSA) Rupert Murdoch isn't a "fit person" to exercise stewardship of a major company, a committee of British lawmakers concluded in a report Tuesday.

The U.K. Parliament's cross-party Culture, Media and Sport committee found News International, the British newspaper arm of News Corp., deliberately ignored evidence of malpractice, covered up evidence and frustrated efforts to expose wrongdoing, according to The Associated Press.

Lawmakers investigated the Murdoch's handling of the phone-hacking scandal that brought down tabloid News of the World .
