General Motors' March Sales Jump 12%

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- U.S. sales at General Motors ( GM) in March rose 12% from last year to 231,052 cars.

By brand, Chevrolet sales rose by 16.8% to 173,073. Sales of the GMC brand jumped 12.2% to 34,337. Both Buick and Cadillac brands saw a decline in March; Buick sales fell 16.3% to 13,105 and Cadillac sales declined 13.4% to 10,537.

Shares of GM fell 1.94% in early trading Tuesday to $26.24. The stock has risen 29.45% year to date.
