Interval International, a prominent worldwide provider of vacation services and an operating business of Interval Leisure Group (Nasdaq: IILG), launched Interval HD, an online video channel featuring approximately 50 destination and resort videos for member families. This dynamic vacation planning tool capitalizes on consumers’ increasing usage of video in most every aspect of their lives. In fact, Google statistics revealed that 46 percent of personal travelers watched travel-related videos in 2011, an increase of 27 percent in the past two years. Videos currently featured on Interval HD include destination overviews showcasing popular locations such as Orlando, Las Vegas, and Cancun. In addition, resort features focus on some of the most desirable vacation experiences available through exchange, a benefit that gives members the ability to trade their resort week or points for comparable accommodations in the Interval network, and Getaway vacation rentals. “When making their vacation plans, Interval members want as much information about the resort and destination as they can find,” said Sharon Freed, Interval’s senior vice president of consumer marketing. “Now, Interval HD takes information access to the next level. Members can further sharpen their image of a dream vacation, and more easily put themselves in the picture.” The videos, approximately one-to-three minutes in length, are a click away on IntervalWorld.com. To view them, members access the Interval HD landing page and choose which destination overviews and resort vignettes they wish to see, or they can visit the online Resort Directory. Plans are to add a minimum of 30 more videos later this year, in addition to those that will be supplied by Interval-affiliated resorts interested in ramping up exposure of rental and sales opportunities. “We’ve created this enhanced content to assist our members in making vacation plans when using any of our programs. But we also feel it will help resort clients using multimedia presentations at their sales tables to bring to life the benefits of exchanging to a broad range of locations,” Freed concluded.
