NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- CarMax (NYSE: KMX) hit a new 52-week high Tuesday as it is currently trading at $35.03, above its previous 52-week high of $35 with 74,185 shares traded as of 9:45 a.m. ET. Average volume has been 2.1 million shares over the past 30 days.

CarMax has a market cap of $7.38 billion and is part of the services sector and specialty retail industry. Shares are up 14.8% year to date as of the close of trading on Monday.

CarMax, Inc., through its subsidiaries, operates as a retailer of used vehicles in the United States.
