Ron Paul Outraises His Super PAC

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Ron Paul significantly outraised the super PAC supporting his campaign in February.

The Texas congressman received some $3.3 million from supporters as Endorse Liberty, the super PAC backing Paul, raised just $282,466, according to Federal Election Commission filings.

Rep. Ron Paul (R., Texas).

Unlike Mitt Romney, who has greatly benefited from the $35.2 million Restore Our Future has spent fighting his Republican opponents, the latest report shows that Paul continued to receive the least super PAC funding among the remaining GOP presidential hopefuls.

Through Thursday, super PACs supporting Romney, Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum had spent a total of $37.1 million, $16.3 million and $6.7 million, respectively, which trumped the $3.1 Paul's super PAC had spent in the same period.

In fact, Endorse Liberty trails former Republican candidate Rick Perry's super PAC, Make Us Great Again, in expenditures ($830,165 less) and funds raised ($1,806,421 less).

The largest individual contributor to Paul's super PAC was Margaret McMahon -- listed as self-employed in the oil and gas industry -- who gave $200,000, or about 71% of the total raised by the entire super PAC in February.

McMahon's donation paled in comparison to Restore Our Future's largest February donor, Bob Perry , who gave $3 million.

The next two biggest donors to Paul's super PAC gave five-figure sums: Ladd Christensen of company Whitehall Ventures gave $15,495, and Sean Wheeler, who uses hypnotherapy techniques to help patients with issues like smoking habits and anxiety attacks, gave $10,000.

No one else gave more than $10,000 to Endorse Liberty in February.
