Candidates' Web Sites Draw Diverse Demographics

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- Campaigns could learn a thing or two from audiences that visit their Web sites.

Of voter-aged audiences that visited Barack Obama's and the Republican presidential hopefuls' official campaign sites, Nielsen found every candidate winning at least one category among crucial voter demographics.

Obama received the most visits from all people old enough to vote, and 52% of those visits came from voters aged 50 and older. The biggest concentration of visits came from those aged 50 to 64.

Ron Paul won the 18- to 34-year-old demographic along with the largest percentage of men (56%) to visit the site.

Newt Gingrich, a Ph.D.-holding former House speaker, won the most affluent and educated group as more than 50% of visitors to his site hold college degrees.

Mitt Romney won among Hispanics with the group amounted to 17% of the visits to his Web site.

Rick Santorum was most popular among women, who made up more than 60% of the visits to
