Consumer Price Index Rises 0.4%

NEW YORK ( TheStreet) -- The Labor Department said consumer prices rose 0.4% in February. Core CPI, excluding food and energy, rose 0.1%.

Economists expected the Consumer Price Index to rise 0.4%, compared with a 0.2% increase in January. The core rate, excluding food and energy, was expected to rise 0.2%.
