Youku ( YOKU) is trending as China's largest online video company is set to buy rival Tudou ( TUDO), creating the leading company in its industry. It will be an all-stock deal valued at more than $1 billion. Once the deal is finalized, the company will be named Youku Tudou Inc. The news comes after the two rivals have faced each other in various legal battles regarding their competitive practices and alleged copyright infringements. The combination of the two companies is expected to close in the third quarter of 2012.
Apple ( AAPL) is another popular search upon news that the tech titan has run out of new iPads for Friday delivery. Apple has reportedly sold out of the new iPad in every country where it is launching on Friday. Orders now placed will not ship for up to three more weeks. All iPad pre-orders placed through Apple's online store in the U.S. and Canada will currently ship on March 19, Australian orders will ship on March 22, while other countries like France, Germany and Japan will have to wait two to three weeks for their orders to ship. AT&T ( T) and Verizon ( VZ) are currently taking U.S. customers' email addresses, saying they will notify those interested in new iPads when they become available. The new iPad will be sold in Apple locations as well as other retail stores on Friday, March 16.
