C2Tech Selects Radisys’ Award-Winning 40G ATCA Platform To Double The Performance Of Its DPI Applications

Radisys® Corporation (NASDAQ: RSYS), a leading provider of embedded wireless infrastructure solutions, and C2Tech, a solution provider in information technologies, today announced that C2Tech has selected the Radisys 40G AdvancedTCA (ATCA) platform for future product lines, doubling the performance of its deep packet inspection (DPI) deployments for traffic monitoring and policy enforcement functions.

As more devices are connected to the network and mobile data traffic continues to grow, it is more important than ever for network operators to be able to analyze traffic for network optimization, efficiency and security. Operators use DPI and policy charging and enforcement functions (PCEF) to monitor, meter and charge for services. Therefore, telecom equipment manufacturers (TEMs) need to create large-scale DPI solutions at ever increasing levels of network connectivity, while meeting operators’ scalability and CAPEX needs. Radisys’ ATCA platforms and application software provide TEMs with the highest performance, scalable DPI solutions.

“We selected Radisys for the company’s application knowledge and expertise in dealing with these highly scalable systems where packet processing and load balancing are vital to our project success,” said Dr. Ismail Uzun, director of software engineering, C2Tech.

Currently, C2Tech’s network of aggregated systems leverage Radisys’ 10G ATCA platform and purpose-built load balancing and application software to analyze and process hundreds of gigabits per second (Gb/s) of traffic. The 10G ATCA platform combines cutting-edge switching, packet processing and general purpose central processing units (CPUs) to create one of the world’s largest DPI deployments.

Radisys’ ATCA platforms and application software deliver improved network throughput, lower cost per bit and higher port density. The Radisys 10G ATCA platform can scale to more than 160 Gb/s per chassis, and by combining multiple chassis at single or multiple Point of Presence (PoP) or other aggregation points in the network, these solutions can scale to one terabyte per second (TB/s) or more. In addition, Radisys’ next-generation 40G ATCA platform will scale up to 320G of processing power and 640 Gb/s of network connectivity per chassis to meet the needs of a variety of evolving network deployments. Combining this capability with Radisys’ Trillium 3G and LTE protocol stacks, including passive monitoring versions, creates a powerful toolkit for mobile network equipment providers and operators.

“We’re pleased to be able to provide C2Tech with a complete, pre-integrated ATCA platform solution that is future-proofed and enables a smooth transition from 10G to 40G,” said Venkataraman Prasannan, general manager, ATCA, Radisys. “Not only does our 40G platform deliver the highest performance solutions for LTE and 3G network infrastructure needs, but it also supports both Radisys and customer-developed DPI software solutions including load balancing software and packet processor-based traffic distribution and analysis to extend capabilities and improve time-to-market for our customers.”

About C2Tech

C2Tech is a solution provider in information technologies that has brought together specialists with profound experience and qualified infrastructure in the areas of
  • Modeling and Simulation
  • Satellite Communication
  • Network Packet Processing and Cyber Defense
  • Video Streaming
  • Enterprise Network and Security Solutions

These areas of expertise hinge upon three elements: know-how, software capabilities and hardware capabilities. The fundamental abilities of a system are determined by the hardware whose limits of, operation cannot be easily altered. Once the hardware of a complex system is fixed, the system performance can be improved only through proper application of know-how. The incentive of the company is to provide products and expertise for enterprise level system integration as well as R&D projects in defense, telecommunications and corporate level solution domains.
