Apple Names Browett to Lead Retail Strategy

CUPERTINO, California ( TheStreet) -- Apple ( AAPL) named John Browett, CEO of European electronics retailer Dixons, as senior vice president of retail.

Browett will join Apple in April and will be in charge of the company's retail strategy and expansion.

Browett replaces Ron Johnson, who left Apple in November to run J.C. Penney ( JCP).

"Our retail stores are all about customer service, and John shares that commitment like no one else we've met," said Tim Cook, Apple CEO, in a statement Tuesday. "We are thrilled to have him join our team and bring his incredible retail experience to Apple."
