NEW YORK ( TheStreet) - Discovery Communications' ( DISCA) show MythBusters is feeling the heat Wednesday after an experiment ended with a cannonball in a California home.

During filming at the Alameda County Sheriff's Department bomb range, the cannonball plowed past its intended target (trash cans) through one home, hit the roof of another, bounced through four lanes of traffic and smashed into a minivan. No one was injured in the accident.

MythBusters, a show that attempts to prove the validity, or lack thereof, of commonly held beliefs, was running a test to determine if other materials could be fired from a cannon and have the same effect as a regular cannonball.

Discovery is working with the people whose property was damaged from the incident.
