Cabela’s Incorporated (NYSE: CAB) announced today that Digiday, the authority on digital media, marketing and advertising, recently named Cabela’s new mobile app as one of the finalists in the 2011 MOBI Awards in the Best E-Commerce/Retail category. The annual MOBI Awards honor overall excellence and breakthrough achievement in mobile media, marketing and advertising.

Cabela’s mobile app was developed in conjunction with Digby, a leading provider of mobile commerce and mobile in-store customer engagement. The free Cabela’s mobile app is available for both the iPhone and Android platforms.

The easy-to-use app features nearly all the same elements of – rich product photographs, complete product descriptions, customer product ratings and reviews, shop by category, a complete site search, store locator and a barcode and QR code scanner.

“Mobile technology is growing at an incredibly rapid rate,” said Tommy Millner, Cabela’s Chief Executive Officer. “The growth rate is even faster than that of online commerce a little more than a decade ago. In fact, industry data indicates mobile devices will outsell laptop and desktop computers combined by 2013. Our customers are using more and more mobile devices every day, and by creating our mobile app, we are able to give our customers the full Cabela’s experience via mobile channels.”

“We’re honored to receive the MOBI Award in conjunction with our strategic partner Digby,” Millner said. “We look forward to continuing to enrich the experience for our customers, making shopping seamless from catalog, in store, online and mobile.”
