American States Water Company (NYSE:AWR) today reported net income of $15.6 million, or basic and fully diluted earnings per share of $0.83 for the quarter ended September 30, 2011, as compared to net income of $6.7 million, or basic and fully diluted earnings per share of $0.36 and $0.35, respectively, for the quarter ended September 30, 2010. Basic and fully diluted earnings from continuing operations were also $0.83 per common share for the quarter ended September 30, 2011, as compared to basic and fully diluted earnings from continuing operations of $0.31 and $0.30 per common share, respectively, for the quarter ended September 30, 2010. “We are pleased with our third quarter earnings and continue to see improvements in each of our three business segments,” said President and Chief Executive Officer Robert J. Sprowls. “In addition, EBITDA from continuing operations increased by $17 million to $42 million for the third quarter of 2011 as compared to the third quarter of 2010,” Sprowls added.
