Constellation Energy Group Inc. made $74 million in the third quarter, but missed Wall Street earnings estimates because of costs associated with cleaning up Hurricane Irene.

Revenue fell to $3.52 billion in the quarter, from $3.97 billion in the same quarter of 2010. But the profit was an improvement from a loss of $1.41 billion in third-quarter 2010.

Baltimore energy giant Constellation (NYSE: CEG) posted 36 cents earnings per share. When accounting for $90 million in costs the company incurred restoring power in the wake of Hurricane Irene, the company posted 68 cents earnings per share.

Wall Street analysts polled by Thomson Reuters had predicted 82 cents earnings per share.
