Oil prices have moved past the $90 plateau in reaction to the positive news from Europe as officials reached a deal to deal at least temporarily with Greece's debt problems.

The Associated Press reports that benchmark crude gained 3 percent to $92.90 a barrel in New York.

Meanwhile, AAA Texas reports that gasoline prices in the state that had crept upward the past two weeks, have fallen back.

Houston gas prices this week are averaging $3.23 per gallon of regular unleaded, down 3 cents. Galveston prices are at $3.24, down 4 cents; while Beaumont prices are at $3.26, down 4 cents.

Statewide gas prices now average $3.29, down 5 cents. The national average is $3.44, down 3 cents from a week ago.
