Range Resources Corp. on Tuesday announced third quarter net income of $34.8 million, which the company attributed to lower costs, and higher production volumes and prices.

The third quarter results were an improvement over third quarter 2010, when the company reported a loss of $8.2 million.

The quarterly net income amounted to 21 cents per share.

The Fort Worth-based company (NYSE: RRC) said its total income and revenues for the third quarter were $338 million, up from $195 million in third quarter 2010.
