With the Alaskan Way Viaduct south of Royal Brougham Way closed as a detour is being built, the demolition of the viaduct has begun in earnest. Here are photos from different sources made Tuesday that show the Seattle structure from its first quiet moments to being broken down to make way for a new highway tunnel that should be finished by late 2015 or early 2016.
