WILMINGTON, Delaware ( TheStreet) -- DuPont ( DD) posted an adjusted profit of 69 cents a share, above analysts' estimates, as net sales jumped 32% to $9.24 billion. It raised the bottom of the range of earnings expectations for 2011. Analysts surveyed by Thomson Reuters expected DuPont, the chemicals maker, to earn 56 cents a share on revenue of $8.79 billion in the third quarter. Net income in the quarter was $452 million, or 48 cents a share, up from $367 million, or 40 cents, a year earlier. DuPont said sales in developing markets rose 38% in the quarter. DuPont, a component of the Dow Jones Industrial Average, raised its expectations for 2011 earnings to a range of $3.97 to $4.05 a share, excluding items. The company previously expected earnings of $3.90 to $4.05 a share.
