Jacksonville gas prices rose 5 cents in the past week and AAA Auto Club South expects them to continue to inch up this week.

The average cost of a gallon of regular gas is $3.42 in Jacksonville, up from $3.37; $3.46 in Florida, up from $3.43; and $3.46 nationally, the same as last week.

â⿬ſAlthough crude oil prices have increased, they are doing so in very small increments, meaning there really isnâ⿬⿢t enough positive news in the market to give oil prices a major boost,â⿬ said Jessica Brady, a spokeswoman for AAA Auto Club South. â⿬ſRetail gas prices continue to inch up as well, although it looks like the rate of increase has started to slow. Prices are likely to continue their upward trend through the remainder of October.â⿬
