E.ON Climate & Renewables North America, a growing wind energy developer, has made Portland the center of its Western development operations.

Steve Trenholm, CEO for Chicago-based E.ON Renewables, said he decided to move the development office to Portland from Denver to better focus on developing wind projects in the Pacific Northwest. The company is a division of German utility giant E.ON AG, one of the largest investor-owned utilities in the world with more than $123.2 billion in 2010 revenue.
