As many as 800 people are expected to attend Mondayâ¿¿s Clean Tech Showcase at California State University Sacramento.

The fifth annual event is sponsored by CleanStart, an initiative of the tech-focused nonprofit Sacramento Area Regional Technology Alliance. CleanStart works to accelerate the development of clean technology ventures in the region.

Focused on ⿿Green Innovation: Engine of Growth,⿝ the event will feature the latest trends in renewable energy, energy and transportation efficiencies and other clean technologies.

The event is set from 8:45 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. at the University Union, 6000 J St.

This year⿿s program will highlight ⿿how the intersection of aggressive climate action plans, increasingly volatile fossil fuel markets and a dampening job market have sparked clean tech innovators and leaders around the world to capitalize on new opportunities that will shape the national, state and regional economies in coming years.⿝

The event also will feature the first Clean Tech Innovator of the Year award.

Registration at the door is $95. Otherwise, late registration is $90. University students, faculty and staff pay $30.
