A subsidiary of Pacific Ethanol Inc. has made an agreement with ZeaChem Inc. to maintain the companyâ¿¿s biorefinery.

Pacific Ethanol Management Services will provide operating services at ZeaChemâ¿¿s 250,000 gallon-per-year cellulosic integrated biorefinery in Oregon beginning in the fourth quarter, according to the company. Pacific Ethanolâ¿¿s plant is adjacent to ZeaChem.

Pacific Ethanol president and chief executive officer Neil Koehler said the agreement is part of expanding the companyâ¿¿s expertise beyond its own four plants.

Sacramento-based Pacific Ethanol (Nasdaq: PEIX) markets and produces low carbon, renewable fuels in the West. The company also sells wet distillers grain, an animal feed. It also transports, stores and delivers ethanol to third-party service providers.
