First Wind said Tuesday that it will purchase 30 wind turbines from Siemens for its proposed 69-megawatt Kawailoa Wind project on Oahuâ¿¿s North Shore.

The company will purchase the 2.3-megawatt SWT-2.3-101 wind turbines through its subsidiary for the project, Kawailoa Wind LLC, Boston-based First Wind said in a statement.

The proposed Kawailoa Wind project will be located above Haleiwa on the North Shore. First Wind also operates the Kahuku Wind project near Kahuku and the Kaheawa Wind Power project on Maui.
