SunWize Technologies Inc. said Monday it has hired Scott Tonn as chief executive officer and a member of its board of directors. Tonn replaces David Kulik, who worked for the company for 19 years. It is unclear why Kulik is leaving his position.

The company, a subsidiary of Mitsui & Co. (U.S.A.) Inc. provides solar electric technologies to residential and commercial customers in the U.S. and abroad.

Tonn was previously president of Essco Wholesale Electric & EGM Inc. from 2001 through 2010, a West Coast electric wholesaler, and worked for a year at Blue Renewable Energy as managing partner.

SunWize has also moved its corporate headquarters from Kingston, New York, to San Jose. The company said the move is expected to improve internal communication, foster innovation, and improve relationships with SunWize's stakeholders.
