BEIJING ( TheStreet) - Wal-Mart ( WMT) said its president in China, Ed Chan, has left the company for personal reasons. Wal-Mart said the resignation wasn't related to store closings the company was forced to make last week over allegations regular pork was being sold as organic pork. "There is no correlation" between Chan's departure and that case, a Wal-Mart spokesman told The Associated Press. "Ed decided to step down. He resigned for personal reasons." Wal-Mart is cooperating with the Chinese investigation in Chongqing. The company was fined more than $400,000 on charges stemming from the pork investigation. -- Written by Joseph Woelfel >To contact the writer of this article, click here: Joseph Woelfel >To submit a news tip, send an email to: firstname.lastname@example.org.
