The average retail price of gasoline dropped slightly in San Antonio over the past week. However, the price of gas rose in most other markets throughout Texas.

Drivers can expect to pay $3.25 on average for a gallon of regular gas. This is down a penny from last week.

The statewide average price of gasoline is $3.24 a gallon, up four cents from last week. The national average is currently $3.43, also up four cents from last week.

Analysts with AAA Texas attribute the statewide and nationwide price increases to the uncertainty of the financial climate overseas and the impact it has been having on the commodities market.

Market analysts say leaders in Europe are making commitments to address economic woes surrounding Greece. This commitment was enough to move the market and drive up the demand for (and the price of) crude oil.
