Judith Tanselle has been named president of Evergreen Energy Inc., the Denver clean-energy technology company said Thursday.

Tanselle, 57, will report to Executive Chairman Ilyas Khan.

Previously she was an executive with White Energy. She serves on the board of the American Coal Council.

"I am very pleased and excited to welcome Judy to Evergreen," Khan said in a statement. "Judy is an experienced energy industry executive with a track record of building profitable businesses."

Thomas Stoner Jr. resigned as CEO of Evergreen Energy earlier this year. Khan has been serving as interim CEO since then.

Evergreen announced Oct. 4 that it has received an offer to sell its K-Fuel process and technology for $30 million. K-Fuel is Evergreen Energyâ¿¿s patented process to improve low-grade coal by squeezing out moisture and boosting its energy content.
