Southern Research Institute Lands $580K Contract

The Southern Research Institute has landed an estimated $580,000 subcontract to support the U.S. Department of Defense Threat Reduction Agency in Armenia, according to a press release.

Under the contract awarded by Black & Veatch Corp., Birmingham-based Southern Research will consult on the design of disease surveillance and response strategies and also facilitate collaborative research between work groups in the U.S. and Armenia.

Black & Veatch is a global construction and engineering firm.

⿿Working with Black & Veatch allows Southern Research to use our unique knowledge and expertise in helping provide global safety and advancing critical research,⿝ said John ⿿Jack⿝ Secrist III, president and CEO of Southern Research, which is a nonprofit research institute.

With offices in Alabama, Maryland and North Carolina, Southern Research conducts basic and applied research in drug discovery and development, advanced engineering and environmental protection.
