MEMC Electronic Materials said its subsidiary, SunEdison, has sold solar energy plants in Italy and Spain to KGAL GmbH & Co.

This follows MEMCâ¿¿s other solar project sales to KGAL earlier this year, putting the total number of projects sold at 12.

The purchase prices for the latest sales were not disclosed.

SunEdison develops, finances, installs and operates distributed solar power plants using photovoltaic technologies.

St. Peters-based MEMC (NYSE: WFR), led by CEO Ahmad Chatila, makes wafers and related products for the semiconductor and solar industries, and develops solar power projects and provides solar energy services through its SunEdison unit. The companyâ¿¿s 2010 revenue totaled $2.2 billion.
