Salt River Project has brought its outage alert system to mobile devices.

The utility launched its My Account Mobile service that covers outage information and can be viewed on smartphones and tablet computers. The system also allows users to report information about outages through the portal.

The outage map was launched in July for computers, but SRP officials wanted customers to have access to information when they were without power.

SRP has seen increased use from its My Account service and now has more than 300,000 customers signed up, or about one-third of its total customer base.
