Nuance ( NUAN) is trending on the company acquired Swype for $102.5 million. Swype makes a keyboard which allows users to type by sliding their fingers from letter to letter. It is reportedly one of the most popular alternatives keyboards for Google ( GOOG) Android devices. Nuance, a speech and digital imaging software maker, has already paid $77.5 million and will pay the remaining $25 million 18 months after closing the deal.
Samsung is another popular search. Samsung and Google have decided not to unveil the Samsung Galaxy Prime and Ice Cream Sandwich at their Oct. 11 Unpacked event. The companies said in a joint statement it wasn't the right time to announce a new product and that a new date and venue will be announced shortly. Some reports speculate the companies do not want the product launch to clash with the funeral of former Apple ( AAPL) chief Steve Jobs, though neither company has commented on the matter.
