The Arizona Corporation Commission is holding two meetings in the next week to solicit comments about the proposed Southwest Gas rate increase.

The first meeting is scheduled for 10 a.m. Friday at the Sundial Auditorium, 14801 N. 103rd Ave. in Sun City. The second is at 6 p.m. Oct. 12 at the commissionâ¿¿s hearing room, 1200 W. Washington St. in Phoenix.

The meetings are designed to give the public a chance to comment on Southwest Gasâ¿¿ proposed rate settlement, which would see residential customers have a between $3.33 to $3.38 increase per month on their bills.

The proposed settlement also includes a decoupling measure that would allow the utility to recover its cost for implementing energy efficiency standards the commission has mandated. Those standards call for 22 percent reduction in energy use by 2020.
