Trophy Club resident Carl Tinsley Ratner was sentenced to 10 years in prison for his role in a fraudulent scheme run by Mack Diamond Energy LLC of Wolfe City.

Ratner was sentenced Sept. 28 in Hunt County after pleading guilty to securities fraud, selling unregistered securities, acting as unregistered dealer or agent and engaging in organized criminal activity, according to court documents.

According to the state's indictment, Mack Diamond ran a boiler room operation that ultimately raised $2.6 million from investors.

Ratner was one of three men involved in the scheme who have been sentenced to prison and ordered to pay restitution to the investors, according to the documents.

Wolfe City is in Hunt County northeast of Dallas-Fort Worth. Trophy Club is in southern Denton and Northern Tarrant counties, between Southlake and Roanoke.
