SLIDESHOW: Energy Inc. Morning Events

By Pittsburgh Business Times

The Energy Inc. Conference and Trade Show, hosted by the Pittsburgh Business Times, kicked off Thursday morning at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Downtown Pittsburgh with a series of speeches by some of the energy industry's top leaders.

John Hanger, special counsel of Eckert Seamans and former secretary of the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection, opened the Energy Inc. conference with his thoughts on the burgeoning energy industry. While he talked about the Marcellus Shale and natural gas, it's not the only part of the energy business that is happening here, he said.

Hanger was followed by Katherine Fredriksen, environmental chief at Canonsburg-based CONSOL Energy Inc.

Energy reporter Anya Litvak and other staff members are at Energy Inc. bringing you complete coverage of the event at the Energy Inc. blog and Twitter with the hashtag #EnergyInc.
