NuStar Energy LP is leasing 15,500 square feet of office and laboratory space at Brooks City-Base.

The Brooks Development Authority approved a lease for 13,000-square feet of office space on the Brooks campus to house personnel associated with NuStarâ¿¿s San Antonio refinery. NuStar will lease an additional 2,500 square feet that will be used as lab space.

NuStar bought the assets of AGE Refining earlier this year for $41 million. The refinery has the ability of processing 14,500 barrels per day of crude oil. The refinery produces jet fuel, ultra-low sulfur diesel, naphtha, reformates, liquefied petroleum gas, specialty solvents and other highly specialized fuels. The refinery is located only minutes away from Brooks.

⿿We are very excited about our new home at Brooks City-Base as it⿿s perfectly suited to our needs,⿝ says Mike Truby, vice president and general manager of NuStar⿿s San Antonio Refinery. ⿿We couldn⿿t have asked for a better facility, as the proximity to our refinery, the quality of the interior finish-out, the size of the space and the growth in and around Brooks City-Base made it very attractive.⿝

San Antonio-based NuStar (NYSE: NS) is a publicly traded, limited partnership that owns 8,417 miles of pipeline; 90 terminal and storage facilities; two asphalt refineries and a fuels refinery. Brooks City-Base is a master-planned community that has development opportunities for housing, laboratory, office, light industrial and retail space. It is the former Brooks Air Force Base.
