Flexpoint Sensor Systems, Inc. (OTCBB: FLXT) http://www.flexpoint.com announced the receipt of an additional order from Intertek Industrial Corp. for emergency systems.

Flexpoint delivered 50 of the new Bend Sensor ® universal sensors and 10 control systems for use in Intertek’s Protek Passenger Awareness System. The “smart” passenger safety system is installed in the seats of the rear compartment of emergency vehicles and provides the driver with constant feedback as to the “seated and secured” status of personnel in the rear of the vehicle. The system is currently in use in emergency vehicles in the U.S., and is being tested in applications for other types of emergency vehicles. There are currently 5,000 to 6,000 new ambulances constructed annually in the U.S. Intertek estimates that sales of their system could exceed 1,000 systems annually.

The President of Flexpoint, Clark Mower, stated, “We have enjoyed our relationship with Intertek and are excited about the application of the universal sensor to their Protek technology. These products have the potential to significantly increase the production of sensors by Flexpoint. Each vehicle system features a control unit, four sensors and a display unit, all designed and manufactured by Flexpoint. The company has realized and will continue to realize revenues under these contracts. There is potential for additional annual volumes in other types of emergency vehicles as well.”
