The King of Prussia Mall said Tuesday it will install electric vehicle-charging stations for customers.

They will be unveiled Oct. 14 in a ceremony with mall officials and Pennsylvaniaâ¿¿s top environmental regulator, Michael Krancer, secretary of the Department of Environmental Protection.

The effort calls for four ⿿pull up and plug in⿝ charging stations.

Simon Property Group Inc. (NYSE:SPG), which owns the mall, said the charging stations show the mallâ¿¿s commitment to sustainability, which includes reduced electric usage and recycling of 4 million pounds of waste per year. Its security forces already use battery-powered vehicles.

King of Prussia Mall includes 400 retailers and 40 restaurants.
