This November, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. will visit Winston-Salem to speak on the relationship between energy independence, jobs and national wealth.

The event will be at Wait Chapel on the Wake Forest University campus on Nov. 3 starting at 7 p.m. The presentation is jointly presented by Yadkin Riverkeeper of Winston-Salem and the Center for Energy, Environment and Sustainability.

Kennedy, a noted energy advocate, has spearheaded a number of legal actions to preserve bodies of water and natural resources. His work with the Hudson Riverkeeper organization to restore the Hudson River in New York resulted in the creation of nearly 200 waterkeeper organizations globally, including Yadkin Riverkeeper.

⿿Robert built the model for protecting our country⿿s water supplies,⿝ said Dean Naujoks with Yadkin Riverkeeper in a statement. ⿿His vision has been an inspiration to help guide our efforts to return our river, its resources and its ability to create jobs and economic vitality back to the citizens of North Carolina.⿝

Yadkin Riverkeeper will host a reception at the Graylyn International Conference Center following Kennedyâ¿¿s remarks. Tickets are $250 and include VIP seating to the presentation. More information is available on the Yadkin Riverkeeper website.
