Hughes Telematics, Inc. (“HTI”), (OTCBB: HUTC), a leader in providing next generation connected solutions, today announced the appointment of George Ayres as its Vice President of Global Sales. In this new role, Ayres will oversee automotive OEM business development as well as aftermarket utilizing HTI’s award-winning In-Drive® connected vehicle solution.

Ayres’ extensive experience includes various executive level sales and marketing roles at Ford and Jaguar, where he was instrumental in building brand and market share at each respective OEM. He started his career at Ford Motor Company and held a wide variety of positions including Sales & Marketing Director of Ford’s Special Vehicle Team Performance Group where he helped launch the Ford Shelby Cobra GT500. Ayres was Vice President of Marketing for Jaguar North America during the largest volume growth the brand ever experienced in the U.S. market. Most recently, Ayres was President and COO of the Skip Barber Racing School; the world’s largest racing training organization, where he created five new enthusiast programs.

Ayres is a graduate of Duke University’s Global Executive MBA program and holds a bachelor’s degree from Iowa State University. He has been a frequent conference speaker on automotive marketing topics, including events hosted by the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
