Pacer International, Inc. (NASDAQ: PACR), the North American freight transportation and global logistics services provider, announced that its Pacer Distribution Services (PDS) subsidiary has expanded its operation to the Seattle area with the leasing of space in Sumner, Washington.

The Sumner property is located at 2701 142nd Avenue East, Suite #100 and is in close proximity to the ports of Seattle and Tacoma. Warehousing and transloading operations began on July 1, 2011. Pacer will also offer trucking services to support the facility and customers in the area.

Recently, Mike O’Malley was hired by PDS as a new Vice President with sales and operational responsibilities in the Pacific Northwest and Southern California territories. Mike brings more than 30 years of executive level transportation and logistics experience to Pacer. Prior to joining Pacer, Mike held two positions with NYK serving as a Regional General Manager and VP of Sales and Marketing. Before working with NYK, Mike held positions with A&M Warehouses, Interstate Distributor, Chase Transportation, and May Trucking Company.
