MRV Communications, Inc. (OTC Pink Sheets: MRVC) (“MRV” or the “Company”), a leading provider of optical communications network infrastructure equipment and integration and managed services, today announced that it will demonstrate Carrier Ethernet Global Interconnect interoperability for its Optical Carrier Ethernet Access product series at the Ethernet Expo Europe Conference & Exhibition in London, April 12-13, 2011.

Ethernet Europe 2011 will assemble hundreds of experts from the service provider, supplier, and analyst communities to explore the latest market trends in Carrier Ethernet network technologies and services as well as paint a roadmap for Carrier Ethernet in the coming decade. MRV will be exhibiting in booth #10 at the conference.

The OptiSwitch Carrier Ethernet Access series is part of the interoperability showcase conducted by the European Advanced Networking Test Center (EANTC) at the show with the goal to provide a common ground for services and their interfaces, improving interoperability of Carrier Ethernet across multiple operators and wholesale service providers. The demonstration will conclude the fourth phase of EANTC's test program and focus on expanding tests of Ethernet operation, administration and maintenance (OAM) services and performance monitoring, class of service mapping and the associated bandwidth profiles of a wholesale global Carrier Ethernet Network-to-Network service. Results from the tests will be detailed in a white paper available via EANTC's website at http://www.eantc.de/cegi2011.

"MRV's participation at Ethernet Europe further highlights our proven ability and solutions for advancing successful implementations and deployments of Carrier Ethernet services across operators and wholesale service providers networks," said Barry Gorsun, President of the Optical Communications Systems division at MRV. "MRV's best-in-class and innovative OptiSwitch solution provides a comprehensive set of MEF-powered and hardware-based OAM and Performance Monitoring tools that enable service providers to roll out end-to-end global Ethernet Services with assured and verified SLA."

MRV's OptiSwitch 900 Carrier Ethernet Access series will participate as NIDs (Network Interface Devices) that are deployed at customer locations terminating end-to-end Ethernet MEF specified Ethernet Network-to-Network Service. The solution will enable end-to-end service visibility for global Ethernet interconnects spanning multiple operators' networks across Europe and USA.

"MRV has taken a proactive role in our latest Carrier Ethernet Global Interconnect interoperability test, providing its carrier-grade NIDs with Ethernet Service OAM and Performance Monitoring functionality," said Carsten Rossenhoevel, Managing Director of EANTC. "MRV's OptiSwitch 900 NIDs enabled us to activate, monitor and troubleshoot Ethernet Services with end-to-end service visibility across four carriers with remote sites in London, Frankfurt, and New York."

Also at the event, Ezra Mizrahi, Technical Marketing Manager for the Optical Communications Systems division of MRV, will participate on April 12 in a panel session entitled "Carrier Ethernet Network Solutions: The Benefits of End-To-End Ethernet Service Management" that provides an overview of key Ethernet OAM standards, shares lessons learned from real-world deployment and identifies practical ways that the industry can speed deployment of OAM to help bring down operating costs and drive value-added revenues.
