Hawaiian Electric Co. and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 1260 reached a tentative contract agreement Monday.

The contract still must be ratified by the union, which represents 1,280 workers, or 54 percent of HECOâ¿¿s employees.

HECO spokesman Darren Pai said he could not comment further on the contract. A call to the union was not immediately returned.
