Lawyer Joins Patriot Coal Board

Patriot Coal Corp. said Friday it named Janiece Longoria to its board of directors, effective immediately. Longoria will also stand for election to the board for a three-year term at the company's annual shareholders' meeting in May.

Longoria is a partner in the law firm of Ogden, Gibson, Broocks, Longoria & Hall LLP in Houston.

Patriot Coal Corp. (NYSE: PCX) is the third-largest producer and marketer of coal in the eastern United States and reported $2.04 billion in 2009 revenue. It has 14 current mining complexes in Appalachia and the Illinois Basin.
