By Dallas Business Journal Gas prices in Dallas fell five cents in the past week, with the average price per gallon now hovering at $2.93 compared with $2.98 a week ago, says AAA Texas. Fort Worth also experienced a five-cent drop in the past week, falling from $2.97 per gallon to $2.92. AAA Texas says the drops occurred as oil prices fell below $87 a barrel, the lowest since mid-November. Texas gas prices overall are 15 cents below the national average. â¿¿Just two weeks ago, Dallas and Fort Worth had the most expensive gasoline in the state and now prices in both cities have fallen by a nickel this past week. Depending on the size of the vehicleâ¿¿s gasoline tank, this can be a savings of up to a dollar per fill-up for motorists in North Texas,â¿ said AAA Texas/New Mexico Corporate Communications Manager Dan Ronan in a statement.
