Businesses looking to save energy and operate sustainably may want to take notes from Maize USD 266, Cessna Aircraft Co. and WDM Architects PA.

The three organizations will be recognized by Wichita Mayor Carl Brewer at the Regional Energy Summit Friday morning.

According to the city, USD 266, Cessna and WDM were selected for their efforts to improve and preserve air quality in the four-county metro area of Butler, Harvey, Sedgwick and Sumner counties, and for incorporating sustainability measures into their organizational structure.

The award will be presented at the Energy Summit and Fair, which runs from Friday to Saturday at the Wichita State University Metroplex. The event is being sponsored by the city of Wichita, Wichita State University and a group of local businesses and energy-related organizations.
